| Notes | Creating Our Future was the first of its kind public engagement dialogue to be undertaken in Ireland. The 18,062 valid submissions from the public represent a unique and previously unavailable snapshot of the public’s concerns and priorities across a broad spectrum of issues. As such, they have significance as a source of insight for policy, decision-making, and research in multiple arenas. All 18,062 ideas collected during the public engagement phase of the Creating Our Future campaign were considered by an independent Expert Committee and are available in this dataset. The ideas were collected between July and November 2021. Including age/county information during submission of ideas was optional, as a result over 11,000 submissions did not have either element. The thematic categories were assigned retrospectively after the expert analysis was complete to facilitate public use of the data. Some submissions have been edited to remove clear grammatical errors and any offensive language. The Creating Our Future campaign does not endorse any of the views, research proposals or commercial endeavours highlighted within submissions. Links to external websites and papers were included within some submissions. The campaign is not responsible for the status of those links. Identifiable information has been removed to ensure GDPR compliance. |
