Kenmare river Infralittoral Habitats classified to EUNIS habitat classification. The EUNIS habitat classification is a comprehensive pan-European system to facilitate the harmonised description and collection of data across Europe through the use of criteria for habitat identification. It is hierarchical and covers all types of habitat types from natural to artificial, from terrestrial to freshwater and marine. Kenmare River is located in south-west Ireland bordering Co. Kerry and Co. Cork. Data was acquired by Ireland’s national seabed mapping programme (INFOMAR - Integrated Management for the Sustainable Development of Ireland’s Marine Resource) in 2011. Data consists of marine habitat data created from the interpretation of multibeam echosounder backscatter and bathymetric data. The data were used to develop a methodology for the classification of MBES data into marine habitat maps and was an output of the MESH (Mapping European Seabed Habitats) Atlantic project. Data interpreted by the Advanced Mapping Services team Data Analyst within the Marine Institute (Ireland). Data coverage completed for Kenmare river area.
