This dataset represents a snapshot taken in September 2016 for the purpose of the WFD RBMP Cycle 2.

Bathing Water Area profiles referred to in Regulation 5 is to consist of a description of the physical, geographical and hydrological characteristics of the bathing water, as provided for in Directive 2006/7/EC where Designated Bathing Waters exist under S.I. No. 79/2008 and S.I. No. 351/2011 Bathing Water Quality (Amendment) Regulations 2011. EC Bathing Water Profiles - Best Practice and Guidance 2009.

Provenance information This dataset represents a snapshot taken in September 2016 for the purpose of the WFD RBMP Cycle 2. Provision of Bathing Water Location designations by the Local Authorities (LA) of Ireland annually as part of the requirement for each LA to supply the EPA with a Bathing Water Profile for each bathing water in their areas to form the Register of Protected Areas under the Bathing Water Quality Act.
