Provenance information The geometry of the rivers were originally generated based on the OSi 50k raster mapping, but has been updated over time as updated information has arisen from local surveys. The associated attribute data comes from a variety of sources, e.g. waterbody codes from the individual waterbody datasets, EPA Code and EPA Name were originally coded by the EPA rivers team for the most part but new smaller stretches can be coded now through the FCT. River orders are generated automatically through EPA tools using the Strahler method.
