About the Project

Irish Sheep Census is an app that displays data from the 2016 and 2020 Irish sheep census. The data has been gathered by the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine. It has been made available on data.gov.ie under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license.

Why it's a Showcase

This showcase utilises Open Data for transparency, revealing changes in sheep population, breed distribution, and other key metrics. This also allows for valuable insights to guide informed decision-making.

Impact of the Showcase

The app allows the Irish Sheep Census to be presented in a clear manner, allowing the user to compare the two census datasets.
