Formerly OSI. Tailte Éireann – Surveying has evolved from the Ordnance Survey Office which was established in 1824, later becoming a state body under the Ordnance Survey Ireland Act 2001. The functions of Ordnance Survey Ireland under the OSI Act 2001 have transferred to Tailte Éireann. The general function is to provide a national mapping service in the State. To create and maintain the definitive national mapping and related geographic records of the State.
