About the Project

Self Service Data Visualization and Analytics of open data active travel datasets in Ireland. The web app currently has cycling and pedestrian counts from Dublin City Council and Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown Council. The intention is to integrate any other open data active travel datasets that become available in the future. Follow @atcounts_ie on twitter for updates.

Why it's a Showcase

Active Travel Counts app contains Irish Public Sector data from Ireland’s Open Data Portal. The data is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) licence.

Impact of the Showcase

The app leverages data from Ireland's Open Data Portal, making cycling and pedestrian counts from Dublin City Council and Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown Council readily accessible to the public. This transparency fosters trust and empowers citizens to engage with their communities' activity patterns. The web app also provides self-service data visualisation and analytics tools. This empowers users to analyse the data themselves, identify trends, and potentially uncover insights not readily apparent from raw figures.

The intention to integrate future open data sets on active travel highlights the potential for the app to grow into a comprehensive resource. This fosters collaboration and facilitates a more holistic view of active travel across Ireland.
