The Cork Coasts Rock Habitats classified to EUNIS habitat classification. The EUNIS habitat classification is a comprehensive pan-European system to facilitate the harmonised description and collection of data across Europe through the use of criteria for habitat identification. It is hierarchical and covers all types of habitat types from natural to artificial, from terrestrial to freshwater and marine. The Cork Coasts Rock Habitats consist of marine habitat data created from the interpretation of multibeam echosounder bathymetric data. Data geographic coverage is an area of the Celtic Sea along the Co. Cork coastline. Habitat extent and classification based on interpretative methods for habitats from bathymetry. Data being used to aid in the management of inshore reef habitats. The data were acquired by Ireland’s national seabed mapping programme (INFOMAR - Integrated Management for the Sustainable Development of Ireland’s Marine Resource) during 2008-2010. Data collated by the Advanced Mapping Services team within the Ocean Science and Information Services (OSIS) section of the Marine Institute (Ireland). Data complete for the area coverage surveyed.

Eolas Dualfhoinse Rock outcrops were digitised from shaded relief imagery, collected as part of the INFOMAR national seabed mapping programme. The original substrate classes assigned to the data were translated to the EUNIS habitat classification system as part of the MESH Atlantic project.
